Can - More Supplements: Assorted Recordings and Bootlegs (1970 - 1977) // Bootleg Download

It has been quite a while, hasn't it? Well what do you know, all good things come back eventually, don't they? Or shouldn't they? I think they definitely do, even if they take a while.

Absolutely no idea if this blog has regular visitors or readers, but in any case, and regardless of who you are, I hope you are doing fine. Quite a wild beginning of the year, almost reaching the half point at this stage, but a weirdly pleasant one in my humble opinion (that is to say, of course, for my own personal recollection, but I definitely hope that it has been a good year for all of you as well).

At the beginning of the year I stated that my intention with this blog was to keep on uploading bootleg recordings that I recommended or felt needed more exposure on a constant basis, but many things got in the way of that, the main one being that I ran out of storage space on Google Drive to continue doing so... I was planning on moving forward to Zippyshare, but you know what happened suddenly with that out of nowhere... I plan on buying a Google Drive plan eventually, just to keep the fun going because there is a lot I would love to share and spread from a wide range of different artists, but that will come at a slow but steady pace. Thing is I remembered my Mega account still existed.

Oh Mega... you sweet beloved, you... you and your goddamn slow download/upload times and limitations, but goddamn you have lead me towards some godly things... It is funny really, right now I have enough space to keep uploading a good chunk of the material I want to share, but it's going to take a while to upload it all properly. As of now I am mainly sharing what was left on there that I hadn't shared and that I really wanted to preserve, so how about we go straight into it?

A long while ago (more than 2 years ago at this point, in 2021 DAMN time flies fast) some friends asked me to share things from my Can bootleg collection, so I ended up uploading a good chunk of it to Mega in order to share it with them. Around 4GB worth of material, I'd say it's pretty damn worthwhile, now isn't it?

You can find a little bit of everything here, in different sound quality as to be expected, some slightly repeated but in different versions, but most of it is truly worthwhile regardless of what era of Can you hold as your personal favorite. Because if one thing always reigns true across their history is that regardless of the record or the lineup, they were so goddamn amazing onstage. You got your Damo era, your Karoli vocals, and sometimes your purely isntrumental Can sets. There are some more of the well known bootlegs to be found here, but there's also ones that I never really see shared around often. All of it on MP3 sadly, and even though it is a relatively small portion of my Can collection and I do plan on sharing it all, lossless and lossy, eventually, this sure is a sweet start, a treat to bring energy and mood up as much as possible because this music just does so in such a wonderful way regardless of lineup or setlist... Truly timeless... Hope you enjoy it!

Now get your damn vitamins!

Can - Live in Soest, Winter 1970

Perhaps THE most well known Can bootleg at this point... maybe... most likely... Definitely one of the ones that has had the most exposure in recent times, as recent as perhaps the last 5-10 years for sure, and there are many reasons for this. Initially the original DVD with the broadcast recording of it got fully uploaded on Youtube, making waves among new and old Can fans and giving more recognition to the live legacy of the band, this expanded even further with it being officially uploaded to the WDR channel, cementing it as a legendary document in Can's history. Of course it was just a matter of time until audio sources started blowing up, rips of the video already existed and were being shared around on bootleg forums and torrent sites but eventually they went on streaming, two main examples of this were the abridged "Live Rockpalast 1970" CD from Rox Vox also getting on streaming platforms and specially the full rip of the concert appearing as the "Madness Is Too Pure (Live 1970)" bootleg in all streaming services surprisingly enough, but getting removed and deleted because it was getting in the way of Spoon and Mute records plan of actually releasing live recordings in an official series.

The fuzz is well justified honestly. The full Rockpalast 1970 performance, with the lineup well adjusted in what is commonly referred to as their "Golden Period", right after fully incorporating Damo "Kenji" Suzuki as their full time vocalist and jumping full force into recording and touring, well after the collaborations with Mooney until 1969, and developing the songs and styles they would get loved and recognized for later on. You have a little bit of everything here, long jams, funky themes, experimental grooves through and through, but overall it's just wonderful. The sound quality is excellent and the setlist and performances tight as all hell, truly showing how revolutionary and unique they were from the very early stages. Hearing Tago Mago tracks right before they got released in 1971 is truly fascinating, showing off a bit of a glimpse to the quality of the jamming and making everyone wonder just what the hell were these guys doing in studio jams... Truly wonderful, a must for fans of the band, or for just about anyone really (in my own humble opinion).

"Tori ge soko... isubateru... atamano... ikaretayatsu...
Ichino ue karashode... wanalaga imotoyogu...
L S E no majikara... tanale... gakio osore...
Asana mada kona ino... saiwa inai... kotone...
WOOOOOOOO!"

Geordie Greep - Road to The New Sound (Live Recordings 2024-08-07 / 2024-10-06) / Bootleg Download

Alright so. Greep's solo endeavors were something I truly had not been expecting to be a thing so soon. He had always been my favorite b...
